How payments work on Hobby
All payments on Hobby go securely through Stripe, one of the world’s largest payment providers. Hobby never sees your card details.
For participants
How you can pay
You can pay by card, Klarna or Vipps. Vipps is available with most hosts, and you will see which payment methods apply when you go to checkout.
When you pay
You pay when you book, and your spot is confirmed right away. Free activities need no payment, and your spot is simply reserved.
The price you see is the price you pay
No extra fees are added on top. If a discount applies, such as a discount code, early bird or group discount, it is shown as its own line before you pay.
Cancellation and refunds
Each activity has its own cancellation rule, from free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start to no cancellation. The rule is shown on the activity page and before you pay. If the host cancels, you always get a full refund. Refunds go back to the payment method you used and can take 5–10 business days to appear. Read more in the terms.
Your bookings
You get a confirmation by email, and you can find all your bookings under My bookings.
For hosts
0% commission during the launch period
The launch period runs until New Year 2027. Until then, Hobby takes 0% commission and you keep the full amount your customers pay.
Connect Stripe
To accept payments, connect a Stripe account under “Payment” in your host dashboard. Once we’ve approved the account, you’re ready to accept payments.
Paid out the day after the activity
The payment is held in your Stripe account and paid out to your bank account the day after the activity has taken place. For packages with several dates, the full amount is paid out the day after the first date.
Cancellations
You choose the cancellation rule for each activity. If a participant cancels within the rule, the amount is refunded automatically and isn’t paid out to you. If you cancel, all participants get a full refund.
Keep track of your earnings
Under “Earnings” in your host dashboard you can see what you’ve earned and which payouts are on their way.
